Sometimes, ending things is like taking cough syrup. IT TASTE TERRIBLE and you’d rather not take it, but in the end its what you needed to make everything feel better.

So the only thing I can think about writing about is the recent split between me and my girlfriend of three years. It was a long time coming but the finality of it shook my world. I remember talking to her for a whole month on the phone every night and txting back and forth while I was working as a delivery driver at Dominos (I was working another job and going to college, take your prejudice towards pizza guys and shove it).

I had only had one serious relationship before her which lasted close to year. We planned to hang out for so long but every time we’d plan to hang out I’d get off too late or she had to wake up early the next morning, etc. Something would always come up, and she also had a boyfriend at the time! I thought I might never actually meet her, HA!

Well, we finally met and we got along really well for a long time. We were inseparable for so long. I honestly don’t know where things started going south, it was a whole lot of things. That time of my life was filled with a lot of mistakes looking back. I wouldn’t change it, it taught me a lot.. and there lots of great experiences.. especially with Josie Bell. If I were to relive those years though, I’d do a lot of things differently.

The whole relationship has taught me a well-needed sense of humility and respect. When we first got together she was very dependent and clingy. At first I liked it because it was a constant reminder that she loved me and wasn’t going anywhere, and having my parents almost split up twice growing up.. it was a nice sense of security. Then it began to push me away because she began to smother me. I took her for granted because no matter what I did, she would just put up with it.

I will readily admit that I made many mistakes in our relationship, and regret every single of them. The final issue that came between the two of us was me buying a house and my friends always being around. Usually buying a house is a good thing, especially in this economy.. but it was definitely a huge sacrifice for me. I will miss you JB.

I really wish her the best in life and hope she fulfills all the goals she has laid out for her life.

After I broke up with him I felt so much more better and now we are friends.
